So, this long worried over semester of strife and anguish and self-doubt has culminated with the submission of the Portfolio Review. This ruthless gauntlet decides which of us pitiable wannabes get to be Art students, and which of us get to be... well, not art students. We turned it in on Wednesday. En mass at eight in the morning. We weren't supposed to find out our fates until next Tuesday. However, the mighty Gods of the Art School sought fit to release us from our anguish! I checked WebCT today, and saw a delightful little box, telling me that they had decided and would like to tell me. I made it! I get to run off and be a photographer!

My call for faces drew in a handful of close friends. Too many people were standing at the sides saying that maybe I could take their picture, sometime. But no one would give me a place and time, so I ended up with a handful of mediocre shots that I didn't love. (Mainly because one of the two of them kept directing the shoot, which I didn't appreciate.) I suppose I've been so bent on nature photography for as long as I have been because the plants don't talk back. They don't need hair or makeup. They never want a costume change, and they won't tell you how to take their picture. I suppose I feel like taking pictures of things in nature is mo

So, I've recently found myself with an intense desire to photograph people. And while I have no problem just taking pictures of strangers, I would feel more comfortable were they someone I knew. But I think normal people are boring looking. So, my dear, dear friends, I am offering my services as a photographer to anyone who would like them. Be they pictures of a band, a play ensemble, or shots of your very own face- I would love to take them for you. And as much as I would love to charge, I can't allow myself to do so in good conciousness. But if you find yourself pleased with the result afterwards, you might pitch some change to my "super
